4 Ingredient Breakfast Bowl

Really simple, really healthy and really, really quick!
Ingredients
- 1 Banana (The riper the better as they're much sweeter!)
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1 cup almond milk (or any other kind of milk)
- 1 heaped tea spoon of cinnamon
Measurements don't need to be too accurate. The banana adds most of the sweetness and bulk.

Toppings - These are the ones I used, but you can throw on absolutely anything you fancy!
- Desiccated Coconut
- Fresh fruit - Blueberries, Banana and Passion Fruit
- Coconut Yoghurt
(Pecans work really, really well but sadly we didn't have any.)

Optional Extras
- Spirulina Powder, Chia Seeds or Cacao powder (Or any other kind of super food!)
- Other types of frozen fruits (Mango and raspberries work particularly well)
- Squidgy Dates
- Almond extract
- Nuts or seeds

Instructions
Chuck your blueberries, Banana (roughly cut in to smaller chunks), almond milk and cinnamon in to your blender and blend!
When everything is nicely mixed together pour it into a bowl, top with whatever you feel like and enjoy!

Lola Emily - A New Direction

I'm a little bit nervous to post this but that just because it means so so much to me now... Here goes nothing!
'Lola Emily' was initially started up as a platform for me to talk about anything (mainly makeup, clothes and food...) that I was interested in and that isn't necessarily going to be any different. However, over that last couple of months there have been quite a few significant changes in my life which have consequently caused me to take a step back and really think about who I am and who I want to be...
Over the summer I started looking into issues that I had heard about but had not fully looked into in depth before. The results of my findings have completely changed me and the way I feel about not only my life but also about society in general. And so, I no longer feel that, given all I know now, I'll be able to continue blogging or vlogging in the same way as before.
I want to use any platforms I have to help raise awareness of the issues that I've been deeply moved by: The exploitation of workers in the fast fashion industry, the brutal, mistreatment of animals in the cosmetic and food industry and of course the rapid and devastating effect we as humans are having daily on our planet!
I know these are really heavy topics. These are issues that I was oblivious to and I'm sure many of you are/were too! But don't worry its all about the intentions behind your actions and the way you chose to live your life. No one is perfect, and making big changes like: eating less meat or animal products and buying more sustainable clothing takes time and lots of mistakes!
I'll continue to post about food, fashion, beauty etc.. But all products or clothing mentioned will be as sustainable, cruelty free and environmentally friendly as possible!
There aren’t enough young people talking about the major issues that society faces today, despite the fact that there consequences will have a drastic effect on our lives and the future of our children and the generations to come.
I’m really excited about this change in both the message and direction of my little space here on the web and I hope it will help people realise how in the dark we’ve all been made to be about global problems that are so so so unbelievably important and shocking. This is bigger than us. Its about the sustainability of our planet! Its about taking a step back, realising how selfish society has programmed us to be and actively deciding to opt out of that vicious mentality. Even little, day to day changes can make a big difference!
If your interested in knowing more about the issues that have prompted this change then I highly, highly recommend watching these two documentaries as a powerful and very informative starting point! Both of which can be found on Netflix : The True Cost and Cowspiracy. Or Earthlings which can be found on YouTube.

Strawberry Picking

Skirt - Topshop
Shoes - Gap
Hat - Paris market stool but similar one here!

Now traipsing around a field desperately trying to seek out a strawberry that hasn't either been chewed on by a snail or shrivelled up by the sun isn't something I'd usually class as 'fun', but there is something strangely satisfying about knowing exactly where your food has come from and being able to pick it straight from the source.
Although, next time I'd probably hold off from eating so many with out giving them a good ol' wash first....That tummy ache was not fun!....

Have you ever been strawberry picking before?
I think I'll make it a summer time tradition!

Where Have I Been?

After revision stress and exam exhaustion, I'm finally recovered and ready to get back in the swing of blogging...

I thought I'd put together a quick post on what I've been up to in my ridiculously long absence...
Granted, a large chunk of my leave was filled with highlighters, post it notes and CGP Revision guides, but I doubt many of you want to here about that! So here's a compilation of the slightly more exciting things I've been up to since my, long awaited, summer began just over 2 weeks ago!

No more 'school'. Ever!
Ok, so technically this didn't happen during my summer holidays but I feel like leaving school is a pretty big thing that I should mention! Next year is going to be quite a drastic change not only because I'm going to a performing arts school rather than a regular sixth form, but also because I'll be leaving behind my 3 closest friends and a hole bunch of other amazing people who helped make my secondary school years relatively pain free.

Prom
A night filled with far too many photos, loads of cake and some unforgettable dancing, all bound together by the sound of a pretty mediocre school DJ....

The Breakfast Club Café
Famous for is epic pancake stacks and quirky set up, The Breakfast Club Café pretty much lived up to all the hype... Only down side, it's a little pricey. Luckily, you do get quite a lot for your money.
Highly recommend the vanilla pancake + fruit stack (obviously) and the green smoothie!

Canterbury
I've just come back from 5 day stay with relatives who live in the centre of Canterbury. A mini break was exactly what I needed after a hectic couple of months!
Canterbury has a good mix of both cute independent boutiques as well as lots of larger chain shops and yes, some shopping damage was done... Of course, the town also has an inescapable and amazing historical aspect to it, but unfortunately,  I don't think the photos above manage to do the infamous Canterbury Cathedral justice; honestly it's so so beautiful and despite the constant stream of tourists it still manages to maintain an air of peacefulness and calm.

Orange Is The New Black - Season 3
When I thought it couldn't get any better! I had to force myself to savour season 3 of OITNB after seriously regretting finishing all of season 2 in under 2 days... But after putting off watching the final episode for 3 days (I know that doesn't sound long but trust me it was torture) I finally finished season three and yep the love affair goes on!
